A native of Montgomery, Alabama, Ms. Sally Robinson received a B. A. in political science from Auburn University with a minor in business. Upon graduation, Ms Robinson moved to Washington, D.C. where she worked for both houses of Congress. First as a staff assistant for Congressman Robert Aderholt, and subsequently as a member of Senator Richard Shelby’s legislative staff. After two years on Capitol Hill, Ms. Robinson returned to her home state of Alabama to work on Governor Riley’s first gubernatorial campaign. After serving on Governor Riley’s inaugural team, she was appointed to the Governor’s staff in the office of appointments. She served as Governor Riley’s Appointments Director until August, 2008. In this capacity, she managed the vast amount of executive appointments to various boards and commissions during the Governor’s term of office, and she advised the Governor as he made more than 50 judicial appointments. She also represented the Governor in the Alabama Legislature for the confirmation of appointments and communicated the Governor’s legislative agenda to members of the legislature.
Ms. Robinson is currently a full-time student at Jones School of Law, and her estimated graduation date is May, 2010. She has excelled in law school, and most recently earned the “Best Paper Award” for Advanced Legal Research. She is also currently serving her second term as an honor court justice.
Ms. Robinson is currently an active member of the Montgomery Junior League, which has led to her involvement with the Bridge Builders program. She previously served as the co-chair of the Junior Executive Board for the American Cancer Society, Chair of the Capital City Young Republicans, a member of the Alabama Republican Party State Executive Committee, and a member of the Auburn Young Alum Club. She is an active member of the First Baptist Church in Montgomery.
